OLEDs are currently manufactured in two versions. These differ in whether the control is passive or active. The passive OLED is called PMOLED and is the simpler version because it is usually monochrome (monochrome). The active version is called AMOLED. Here a TFT backplane (TFT back electrode) is used.
OLED displays are based on organic semiconducting materials. These materials glow when energized. In contrast to LCDs and TFT displays, OLED displays are self-illuminating systems. They are mainly used for smartphones and tablets. All these applications are realized with AMOLED and convince in particular by the fast and dynamic image display.
