The cover lens is far more than a simple protective layer. It forms the visible surface of the HMI system and has a significant impact on usability as well as on the design and the overall durability of the solution. Depending on the application, it provides protection against scratches, chemicals, UV radiation or mechanical stress, while at the same time providing a high-quality appearance.
With custom designed glass or plastic solutions, the cover lens can be precisely tailored to the product design. Printing, cut-outs, sensor windows or illuminated symbols can be integrated directly into the lens. Combined with optical bonding, it also enhances contrast, reduces reflections and improves readability even in direct sunlight.
