Customized Display Elements «Coverlens»

The cover lens - also known as a cover glass or front glass - protects the display from scratches, dirt and UV radiation. The cover lens is bonded to the display. You can adjust many things with a cover lens. Most important are the size and thickness of the glass. But the hardness also plays a role, because no one likes to have scratches on the display.

2.86″ Bartype TFT Display

Special format, high resolution, suitable for industrial use and even with touch! Is it all possible? Of course it does! At DMB Technics, we always want to offer our customers optimal solutions so that their design ideas can be put into practice. Often, however, the wishes and requirements for the display design and the standards available on the market seem to be difficult to reconcile. If several factors that deviate from the standard come together, implementation often seems difficult. This is where we, as display experts, come into play.

What actually means “IPS”?

(In-Plane Switching) IPS technology works in a similar way to TN technology. The difference is that the LC crystals are arranged in parallel and twisted by 90 ° in the plane. If a voltage is now applied to the two electrodes, which are both located on the backplane, the LC crystals all rotate in one direction.

Challenges are there to be met

As is clearly visible in the current market situation, prices and delivery times for IC controllers and TFT glasses are increasing massively. From experience we have to assume that this situation will probably last for months and thus also affect the year 2021.

IPS = Excellent viewing angle and high contrast

IPS-panel (In-Plane Switching) is a panel- technology which originally was a result of improving another well-known panel- technology, the TN-panel (Twisted Nematic). Due to the molecule-structure of the TN- panel, one of the downsides of this technology is the well-known limited viewing- angle in particularly one angle showing colour-inversion. This shift in colour and contrast is related to how light is guided through the panel. In the IPS-panel, the molecule-structure is organised differently as they are parallel to the glass of the panel. As a result of this, the viewing angle is much more uniform, there is practically no colour-inversion and the contrast improved.

Bartype TFT Display

Display applications in the home appliance market, especially for household appliances, increasingly require extra image formats. Here Bartype TFT (or as they say 'stretched TFT displays') are popular in use. These widescreen formats fit perfectly into the usually specified maximum front panels of the designs.
