The case belongs to the display like the lid to the pan. But there are a few things to bear in mind when attaching it. A simple and cost-effective method of mounting is to stick the module into the enclosure using DST (Double Side Gluetape). Depending on the tightness requirements, however, the DST must be attached differently.
IPS* panels are used in all versions. This technology ensures excellent readability from any viewing angle. In combination with the extended operating temperature range of -30°C to +80°C, the modules can be used in a variety of applications, whether handheld, medical or industrial.
Resistive and capacitive touch panels are almost always used in the LCD sector. Nowadays, however, the focus is on capacitive touch panels, because they have a longer service life and thus a big advantage over resistive ones. CTPs (capacitive touch panels) offer a choice of three different structures.
An interface is the connection between the display and the control unit. The RGB and LVDS interfaces are used particularly often. A basic distinction is made between serial and parallel interfaces. The most commonly used are SPI, I2C, MCU, RGB, LVDS and MIPI-DSI. However, the SPI, I2C and MCU interfaces are mostly used for settings in the LCD controller and not for the playback of image content (except for character LCDs or small graphic displays with dimensions up to 320 x 240 mm).
Special format, high resolution, suitable for industrial use and even with touch! Is it all possible? Of course it does!
At DMB Technics, we always want to offer our customers optimal solutions so that their design ideas can be put into practice. Often, however, the wishes and requirements for the display design and the standards available on the market seem to be difficult to reconcile. If several factors that deviate from the standard come together, implementation often seems difficult. This is where we, as display experts, come into play.
The light that backlights the display is called backlight. Two points play a central role in ensuring that the lighting is optimal.
The first and most important point is brightness. Since around 90 percent of the light is absorbed by LCDs, polarisation foils or other components, sufficiently bright LEDs are needed.
The market for e-mobility displays has grown recently. The potential applications in this field require high demands on readability - the so-called sunlight readability of the displays - in different light conditions, such as direct sunlight.
Most industrial TFTs today have an edge LED backlight. The backlight illuminates the entire surface of the TFT, so if we reduce the brightness of the backlight, it affects the entire TFT surface at the same time.
Highly integrated, intelligent displays are in high demand these days. Most of the time, the modern HMI (Human Machine Interface) is complex and requires more processor resources than the control of the actual application. With a smart embedded display product, DMB Technics covers a large part of the requirements for current HMI and makes computing power available where it is needed.
Small monochrome displays are already widely used in various applications. However, the representation of colors is also increasingly desired for such displays. For the representation of colors TFT displays are mostly used.
Nowadays, highly integrated, intelligent displays are particularly in demand. Most of the time, the modern HMI (Human Machine Interface) is more complex and needs more processor resources than the control of the actual application.
